Pike's Place

A couple days after Christmas we took a rather unplanned flight (we were going to drive but the roads kept closing) to Seattle to visit my family.  It was a long awaited, long needed visit!  I am so glad we were able to go - that is especially due to the love and help from my family.  I wish we could visit more often!  I miss them!  I will be posting different parts of our visit (one post would have WAY to many pictures!)

One of our first "adventures" as Jessie & Rayla call it (or at least the first I had my camera charged for...) was going to Pike's Place Market and Seattle's International District. Sam came along as our guide, since he is now living in downtown Seattle. He was teased mercilessly for his lovely sense of direction, I might add. So here are a few shots of our time at Pike's Place:

Sam, our fearless guide is loving that I am taking a million pictures...
We found some cute hats!! I loved shopping with my sisters! We miss out on so much being so far apart!
Here they all are standing in front of the favorite fish-throwing place. That is something everyone should see sometime. Everyone loves fish flying through the air! Actually the most interesting part about this for us was the group of people nearby with signs for "Free Hugs". We didn't take them up on their offer though, we had each other.

If you can't tell what he is doing, Mark is juggling. We found this little magic shop and Jesslyn enjoyed Mark's "magical" ability to juggle so well.
Some of the many fun pictures taken while enjoying the market. The last one was a favorite for us all. It was so neat to watch the man make those pictures!
My favorite of the shops. This pasta is amazing! (I am really loving finding new things to cook.) Yes, that is Dark Chocolate Linguini.

Isn't he cute!

As part of our adventure, I wanted to find this type of cheese we had on my mission. They all wondered about my "taco cheese" but loved it when we found it! On our search we found this little sausage pig... slightly disturbing, but very interesting.
After we finished at Pike's Place, Sam showed us the way to his favorite place for chinese food, Kau Kau. It was in the international district. Maya, Sam's fabulous girlfriend, joined us for dinner. This a picture of them, but....
This is a more expressive photo of them- Look at those faces, I love it!
This is everyone (minus me, the photographer) eating and especially enjoying the barbeque pork and duck. The noodles were great too!

After we finished up we went on a rather long ride to bring Sam and Maya home. There are no pictures because we were really squished but it was definately memorable! What a fun day with my family!
